  • The distribution of 2 community newsletters to over 35,000 central Edinburgh residents (in March and June 2006)
  • The establishment of a project web site
  • The establishment of a community hotline (0131 556 6120)
  • The establishment of a Community Liaison Group, chaired by Canongate Kirk Minister, Reverend Neil Gardner (first meeting December 2006)

The Council also carried out its own community consultation work between 13th March and 8th May 2006, which Mountgrange was instrumental in supporting and resourcing. This work included:

  • An unmanned exhibition showing details of the draft Masterplan at the City Development Department which ran from 20th March to 7th April 2006.
  • Two days of community drop in exhibitions held at the Canongate Kirk on 21st March and 3rd April 2006 which gave members of the public the opportunity to discuss the project with representatives of the Council and Mountgrange.
